My name is Susanne Reisterer and I am the teacher and creator of SparkleGal’s Art Magic TPT Store and Blog. I am a graduate of Western Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in Art Education K-12. I have been a teacher at a rural public Middle School, in Michigan since 1991.
Teaching is still fun for me! My full-time art teaching career continuously teaches me more and more as I continue beyond my 30th year!
My SparkleGal’s Art Magic Store and Blog
I chose the name Art Magic because
- The act of creating art is magically transformative!
- Art has lifted me out of difficult places in my life.
- Art has helped me raise money to support my family.
- Creating art transforms children’s confidence,
- Art is like alchemy! Artists create something from practically nothing and bring joy and value into other people’s lives! Just the act of mixing colors is like sheer magic!
- I chose the name SparkleGal because I want to celebrate the daily magic of creating with others and shine creativity into the world of others…plus I love all things sparkly!
If you need art lesson ideas, my TPT store is growing with many of my most successful lessons for you to enjoy with your students too.
- I pride myself on producing high-quality art lessons and resources that will provide art teachers, classroom teachers, and homeschool instructors with educationally rich lessons.
- My resources contain many useful handouts and directions that are practical and easy to understand.

What brings a sparkle to my heart!
- My husband has been my best friend for over 28 years and going strong! I am the mother of 3 happy and successful children. My yippy but sweet Maltese named Buddy follows me everywhere and is always at my feet!
- Michigan summers, sunshine, and water help to rejuvenate my creative energy. Summer art shows in various locations have allowed me to create and share light-hearted art. My summer-themed artworks have been sold on Etsy.
- I am trying to learn how to play the ukelele…my sons are much more musically talented than I am! I enjoy walking, nutritional cooking, decorating, sailing and my latest love… gardening.
- However, most of my artistic energy goes into my teaching which has a never-ending “to-do” list but has always been challenging and rewarding. I am grateful that getting paid to do what I love is the best job, I could wish for!
